Engineering an Automated Process for part installation
Goal: Automate a previously manual process to improve efficiency, consistency, and cycle time.
What I Did: Designed and demonstrated an automated solution for part picking, adhesive application, and screw placement. Developed and simulated end effector designs in CATIA V5 and programmed a UR10 robot for precise execution. Applied creative problem-solving and prototyping to refine the system.
Tools & Technology: Implemented 3/2-way pneumatic solenoid actuation for adhesive release, a motorized applicator, and creative robotic end effector design to allow pick-and-place programming for seamless automation.
Result: Delivered a functional automation concept, showcasing improved process reliability, repeatability, and reduced manual labor.
